Curriculum vitae is a hackneyed expression
Lawyers call it a "CV," but it is Latin for a brief account of qualifications (literally "account of one's life"). Doctors and other professionals use it. Lawyers like to use it to qualify a doctor as an expert. It is a hackneyed expression though; biography is better. I love Latin too, but its use is off putting to most.
