Lawyers generally stink at social media. Perhaps you think the author isn't very good at it either. Although I haven't heard about it in awhile, LinkedIn and the irrational fears that surround it have resurfaced. Lawyers are told they may get in trouble if someone endorses them because of the dreaded word "specialist," which can only be used in North Carolina if you are designated a specialist by the NC State Bar. Newsflash: an endorsement is NOT calling someone a specialist.
Lawyers need to be active in social media. It is the best way to reach people. If you are operating out of a position of fear, you will fall behind. Use social media, tempered with good sense of course.
