Indiana judge is removed from office for rude conduct, delayed dispositions and retaliation
Indiana judge is removed from office for rude conduct, delayed dispositions and retaliation. In North Carolina, there is no way to check this kind of thing. There is a judicial survey sent out by the North Carolina Bar Association, but it is not legally binding. It can influence behavior, however. Unfortunately, the General Assembly scrapped the Judicial Commission, which was supposed to hear complaints against judges. The Governor refused to veto the bill. Now complaints against judges go to the North Carolina Supreme Court, where the hearings are held in secret without a transcript. I won't say which political party could possibly get a better deal here, but you can figure it out. Ah...Citizens United, your tentacles are wrapped around our state.
