I was inspired by the Darryl Hunt case and the Damien Echols (Life After Death) case to pursue this potential project. Too many people are wrongfully given life in prison or put on death row. Unfortunately many of these people are minorities, who were convicted in large part due to racist prosecutions and racist juries. Clearly this is wrong.
Lawyers are supposed to use the law as a tool to right social injustice. As Chair of the YLD next Bar Year, I would like to get the YLD more involved in the Innocence Project.
